Why this exists

Vienna airport, mid-afternoon, two hours into a delay. I was in one of those plastic chairs and realized I'd have gladly paid a couple of dollars to insure even thirty minutes of this — to be in the Starbucks across the gate instead. Existing flight insurance only kicks in past three hours or on cancellations; nobody covers the ordinary Wednesday-afternoon delay. So we did.

30-second AI quote

Describe your flight in plain English. Our AI prices it on the spot.

Automatic payouts

The moment a delay tier triggers, your payout fires.

No claim forms

No paperwork, no phone calls. The flight data is the claim.

One simple ladder, every flight.

The AI sets your premium based on the flight's risk. Payout multipliers stay fixed and visible up-front.

DelayPayout
30+ min2× premium
60+ min3× premium
120+ min6× premium
Cancelled20× premium

Example: a $2 premium pays out $4 / $6 / $12 / $40 across the four tiers.

Common questions

How do you not go broke on a $40 payout for a $2 premium?
The AI prices each premium based on the flight's actual delay risk — route, airline, day, time, season. Across thousands of policies the math averages out. We're upfront that real underwriting calibration is post-MVP work, but the infrastructure to price per-flight risk is there from day one.
What if my flight isn't covered?
We cover most commercial passenger flights. If the AI can't find your flight in the data source — small regional carriers, charter ops — it'll tell you and refuse to quote rather than guess. We'd rather not insure than mis-insure.
When do I get paid?
The moment your flight crosses a delay tier, your policy flips to claimable and the payout is waiting on a one-click confirm. In this demo build it's instant; in production it would settle to your card via Stripe within minutes.
Why a 2-hour purchase cutoff?
Adverse selection. Once the airport board shows your flight delayed, anyone could buy a policy and immediately claim. The T-2h cutoff means coverage must be bought before delay info is publicly visible — keeping the math fair for everyone.
